Where is the resistance? Why do we keep settling for old scores. Bush should be deposed by now along with his cronies. Where is the outrage! How come there is no anti-war demonstrations?

There are. There are loads of anti-war protests going on all the time. But the media got smart from the whole Vietnam experience.

If the media showed the anti-war demonstrations all the time, then more and more people would grow to join the demonstrations, and we'd have a stronger movement.

Start your own, and educate. That's where it begins.

In the U.S., Sept. 24th, there's a march on the White House. (http://www.unitedforpeace.org)

There are actualy quite a few groups out there, and the number of groups grows daily. Infact, thinks to Cindy Sheehan, there are actualy people of the Right who are joining in the Anti-War protests. The big problem is that it is being put on Television enough, so your largest source of information would have to be the internet.

Communist, to echo what others have said, there are hundreds of anti-war organizations out there. Many of which organize protests, some very large ones as well.

Clarxist was right on though, the media learned well from Vietnam. Not only do they not show the protests, but more importantly, they don't show the actual war, nor the coffins returning. Don't forget than Vietnam was televised. Every night when families would come home from work (at their wage slavery jobs :D ), they would sit down and see the actual fighting. They would see the innocents dying, the torture, the soldiers in pain, etc... This hit fucking hard. Now all we get is propaganda.

I also want to point out that the Patriot Act, which was re-written by the executive office at 3 in the morning the morning of the decision (at 11), was passed and invades all privacy of American citizens. The 1st, 4th, and 8th amendments (along with many more), have been raped by this legislation, and what do we hear of this?

The Bush administration is recklessly destorying what little is left of our forests, now declaring national parks unused, and therefore expendable. And what do we hear of this?

The administration is detaining civilians for unknown amounts of time, without access to lawyers, in unknown locations, for 'as long as the war on terror continues'. And what do we hear of this?

Tax cuts go to the richest, while the plans to help the poor (if you call them that) are always under-funded or abandonded. Again, what do we hear of this?

There are hundreds of reasons to impeach the whole fucking administration, but the public doesn't hear a god damn word of dissent that isn't ridiculed by the media. Forget the simple example of the War in Iraq, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are being shredded and defecated upon (metaphorically of course) here at home. This, coupled with the truth about the war, would rouse any people into action. But who's going to tell them? And will they believe them?

Yeah I got your evidence: The United States Patriot Act. It's long, but it's all in there. Tell your dad to read the legislation that affects him, then you'll talk.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c107:H.R.3162:

This offers four versions of the text. This way you and your dad can read what was originally proposed, and what was modified by the executive branch, to fuck Americans even harder.

Or you can check out the stance of the American Civil Liberties Union here:
http://www.aclu.org/SafeandFree/SafeandFre...?ID=13371&c=206 (http://www.aclu.org/SafeandFree/SafeandFree.cfm?ID=13371&c=206)

Or you can read the simple final version (300 pgs) from the Justice Department themselves:
http://www.lifeandliberty.gov/
Look on the right hand column for "Text of the Patriot Act"

All of this found in under 1 minute by Googling "the patriot act". :)

The Communist Party of Australia is going to try and get people organised to do a protest at Sydney US consulute, get some groups together and train in and meet others there. Try and get things rolling.
