ok, so i was thinkin of writing a kind of article/essay about how capitalism keeps us all in a kind of hidden dictatorship, i.e. we THINK we have democracy but really all we can do is vote capitalist, be it through restrictions, biased education or whatever. it woul d be my first venture into communist writing (or writing of any kind), and although i obviously have my own facts and ideas and will be doing my own research, i was wondering if any of you guys could post on your own ideas or tips. i cant get back on till probably next thursday (if im lucky), so try keep this thread going until then? thanks guys, i would really appreciate the help ;)

The beauty of the democratic systems of thought control, as contrasted with their clumsy totalitarian counterparts, is that they operate by subtly establishing on a voluntary basis - aided by the force of nationalism and media control by substantial interests - presuppositions that set the limits of debate, rather than by imposing beliefs with a bludgeon.

You could read about Salvador Allende and Jacobo Arbenz and what happened while they were in office.

Marx categorized all states having a dictatorship, socialism would be a dictatorship of the proletariat, and capitalism is the dictatorship of the bourgeois, start with that, also check out gramsci's work, especially that on cultural hegemony where he explains why the cappies keep their power

You could look at the policies of the major parties in the last elections in America and Britain and show how there was little difference. Showing how all these policies favour big business over the electorate.
Just a thought.
