He's got alot of anti-establishment and anti-police songs in the album "where only in it for the money" from 68 (?), I think, but he also got some funny "anti-hippie" songs there to, so he was probably just a left-liberal I gues!

I'd say he was probably closer to a libertarian.

I have an interview with him somewhere where he says that the "republican" (the american variety) phiosophy basically has it right, less taxes and less govt. It is on casette otherwise I'd upload a clip from it.

Like as if matter's what he was. Independant Capitalist, Liberal, Social Democrat - It's all name. What's the point, however, is that he -was- dissin' reactionaries, and that flame should've been kept on. Foh'real. But it still isn't enough...as if he was seriously political all.
