If I'm making too many new posts someone yell at me... :)
Right. So, if the people are producing things for the people; someone has to decide that they want the job of producing that right? Like, someone grows up and as their growing up they want to be a doctor. Would there be anything that would stop little Jimmy from being a doctor besides his own faults of flaking out on education or what have you? Also, what about abstract jobs like, journalists, artists, authors, and even... orators? Would there be room for them?

for the first part no, there is nothing that stops someone from being a doctor as long as they have the education for it. and for the "abstract" jobs, these wouldnt be "jobs" they would be during peoples free time, which they would have a lot more of with a 4 hour work day.

The other thing that you have to keep in mind is that there are always people that like doing weird things. I know a kid infatuated with trash, and even though hes not poor and hell probably go to high school and college, he wants to be a trash man. It might be weird to you and I, but that's his thing. Also, an idea that I have is while your in school students could work in jobs in which there are shortages. For example in order to graduate the 11th grade you would need X hrs of community service.

One very important thing that will occur in communism is what I call the 'fuzzying' of the division of labor. This way, one may be a doctor and a streetsweeper. One may practice various professions for various lengths of time. This freedom is almost unimaginable today. so these abstract jobs will still have a place in communism, but they themselves will not be the 'only' thing one does.
To answer the first question (I worked backwards), there would be nothing stopping Jimmy from being a doctor besides Jimmy. Now, if there are already 10 doctors in Jimmy's commune, he'll obviously have to move to a different commune (if he still wants to be a doctor). But such a scenario is doubtful simply because of man's various, sometimes odd interests (as necro commented upon).

Thanks for giving Jimmy a chance Anomaly! LOL :D
With "fuzzying" labor, wouldn't it be difficult to perform the different jobs? I mean, going from a bus driver, to a custodian wouldn't be too difficult. But wouldn't doctors and lawyers and such pretty much be static in their feild considering the role of experience and the amount of education needed to innitially acquire such a reputable position? Especially the experience factor.

Huh? How would it be difficult for a doctor (we wouldn't need lawyers in communism) to perform other easily done tasks (like my example of streetsweeping)? A doctor in communism would likely work out of their home. So isn't it reasonable to expect that doctor, on an especially slow day in which no appointments are expected, to go out and do something (child care, streetsweeping, something)? Even if the doctor has appointments, can't he do something between them? The point is that the doctor is not only a doctor; he does some other beneficial task besides his primary profession.

Of course you could live you're dream of being something you want to be. I want to be an archeologist because I'm interested in ancient and medieval civilization. However as well as being an archeologist I would also help out in my local community with labour in a communist society.
I would enjoy doing everything in a communist society, working as an archeologist and helping out with anything that needs doing i.e. cleaning, taking care of the elderly and producing goods for societies need.

I believe that if you get the required education in a field your allowed to participate in that field, plus basic jobs that require less skills, like a garbage man. The fact that the Education would be free would allow any one to be what ever job they chose, and they would have to attend school / work to get the required education in another field.

I have an intresting situation,
what happens when new technology is created , who or what will determine who uses or recieves them.
If a more advanced car is created who will get to use it first?
Or what happens if someone just isnt pulling there own weight on the the job?
Or when new facilites are built , everyone cant use it at once, who will get first dips, how would this be determined?
Would we wait untill there is enough for everyone to use?
