How, in a communistic society, would the issue of health care be handled? The production of pharmacuetical(sp?) things and so forth?

Doctors would prescribe needed medications. However, the idea of medication being unavailable without a doctors note would not be in effect.
The idea of a prescription from a doctor under communism is that you need to know what you need. However, if you wanted to get quaaludes... more power to you.

Would be made in large scale co-op working collectives. ;)

So, would it be free?
If I walked into a hospital with a broken leg; would they just fix me up and send me on my way with a lollipop (cmon, you know you only go to the dr. for the lollipop! ;) )
Thanks for answering that part *****brew.

yes there is no money. its mutual agreement. the doctor repairs your leg because you are supplying him with for example,food/clothing/etc, whatever your particular job may be

The economic question is pressing of course.
How do we determine our needs and balance this with our wants?
How do we know how much to produce and what to produce?
In a self-regulating moneyless economy only the most directly democractic and horizontally organized communes will be able to fulfill this. Democratic centralism is not an acceptable form of economic organization.
