How do you regard Bader-Meinhoff, the Red Army Brigade, Black September, SLA,Weather Men, PLO, and Carlos the Jackal? Please, tell me about some other ones I did not list.

Some of these groups had a legitimate foundation (Baader-Meinhof, Red Army Brigade) and others not so much. The best word to describe these groups is they were carrying out proletarian justice while the bourgeois government let the fascsist go and destroy everything.

Idiots who would never achive anything. While I respect that they were willing to take up arms against Capitalism etc, I don't think that they went about things the right way. You need a mass base in order for a revolution to be successful, all of these groups lacked that (with the possible exception of the PLO, but they don't really fit).

I agree with you all, because of the groups, none that I know of had any mass support. So what about the Red mercenary Carlos the Jackal?

Carlos is a strange one. I think that soem of his ideas have merit (trying to bridge the gap between Communist Militancy and Islamism), but he does like to blow his own trumpet a lot. The fact that he takes credit for attacks he had nothing to do with and in some cases never happened (!!) is proof of this. I'm trying to find a translation of the book that he wrote while in prison, but so far I haven't managed to do so. His support of Osama Bin Laden also puts me off some what.

Can we even consider Carlos a red, because he started working for hire rather than fo the cause?

Politically he's Red-Green (Green, as in Islamism, not environmentalism), but he has a definate playboy, gun-for-hire persona.

Carlos was just a gun for hire, He only cared of a cause for a bit, but the sad thing is most of his attacks/bombings were to get his girlfriend out of prison in France, thats when he really eraned his name, so no I don't think he was legitamite, but the other I see fine
