hey everyone...
My name is che... hope I don't confuse anyone too much.
anyway I have a massive modern history essay and my topic is
Che Guevara said the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love. What did he mean by this and how did he adapt this theory to his actions in the Cuban Revolution?
I just want people's general comments on how they interpret this comment to get me a bit of inspiration. I would really love to hear as many oppinions as possible.

You're probably doing the HSC huh?
Me too :(
Anyways, for some background info...
I actually discovered Che thru this subject and I've been into him ever since.
I did a report on his life and his role in the Cuban Revolution which got the full score. Now in terms of your essay topic, the "great feeling of love" may refer to Che's quixotic character and how he fervently conducted himself during the revolution. He genuinely cared about the impoverished, the dispossessed and the discriminated (see The Motorcycle Diaries for a cinematic treatise of Che's character prior to the revolution). Other aspects to consider:
- his appearance (the fatigues, the hair, the beret, his trademark stare)
- utmost respect for Fidel Castro and his cause
- Marxist leanings
- his doctoral education
- transition to becoming a guerilla fighter

did he adapt this theory to his actions in the Cuban Revolution?
Em, not if you think in terms of the glorified myth that surrounds him. In fact, in many cases quite the opposite (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=37751&st=40).

The 'real' Che was probably something between the saintlike myth and the bloodthirsty monster his enemies want you to think he was.

None of you guys have really answered his question.
the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love
What I interpret this is that the love represents a love towards people suffering from years of oppression. A revolution can only be successful if the revolutionarys care and beleive in what they are doing for the people.

Love for the abused and the oppressed of this world. Love of doing something about it. And that something is the Revolution.
