I think he is saying that Capitalist revolutions failed many times when trying to overthrow feudalism, Socialist revolutions that have failed to overthrow Capitalism should be viewed in this respect - first steps, we should learn from our mistakes.

You are indeed correct; most of the first attemps at capitalism failed miserably.

I completely agree. There is no reason to believe that once the pseudo-socialist revolutions failed, the entire movement failed.

It takes a long time for theories to become accepted enough to be carried through and not compromised when being taken into effect.

We are always growing closer to our goal of Communism being accepted, but it will take an almost unimaginable amount of work to get it where it needs to be.

I'd much rather live in a liberal democracy than an authoritarian monarchy.

Although these revolutions failed as socialist revolutions, they did bring about better, although not the best conditions.

Think of timescales for a moment please. The revolution of 1789 was unsuccessful in the dawn of deomcracy. Modern democracy emerged probably in 1865 after the American Civil War and the end of Slavery.

Now consider our cause, the first true communist revolution was 1917. It was succesful but the system failed much like 1789. Perhaps modern leftism will emerge at similar times. This means our time is long overdue (1990s). The time will come soon. Be ready and strong for your people, comrades.

Slim, companero, you are right, fully agree with you, and all of you, gays, are right. There is scientific principle, according to which the failuring result remains to be result and gives us some experience.
And the experience of communism building in the countries of the "Communism block" is much useful and soon will be the foundation of the new society. I'm ready to take part in it, and you?

The United States was one of the last countries to get rid of literal slavery. It is unfair to say that all of the other democracies in the world weren't democracies because just the United States still supported slavery.

The grand thing is, the revolution that brought about capitalism didn't really involve guns. There were deaths, yes, and conflicts in the midst of it. However what brought the bourgeoise into major play was the INDUSTRIAL revolution.

The socialist revolution will be one similar. Not centered around fighting an oppressive force against weapons in an attempt to seize power. With technology, we will eventually use the tools they created and break their power one bit at a time. Indeed the revolution will not be televised. Many people won't even realise it's happening until it's over.

"The great leaders of the proletariat, Marx and Lenin, pointed out and stressed that the revolution is not a triumphant march in a straight line. It will have victories but also setbacks; it advances in zigzags and mounts step by step. The history of the development of human society shows that the replacement of one social system by another, higher system, is not done within one day, but covers a whole historical epoch. In many instances and in many countries the bourgeois revolutions, which replaced the feudal system of exploitation with the capitalist system of exploitation, were unable to escape the counter-revolution, either. An example of this is France, where the bourgeois revolution, although it was the most profound and radical revolution of the time, was unable to establish and consolidate the capitalist order immediately. After the initial victory of 1789, the bourgeoisie and the working masses had to rise again in revolution to overthrow the feudal monarchy of the Bourbons and the feudal system in general and finally restore the bourgeois order." - Hoxha
