hi, i represent the peoples union, we are a marxisist group set on spreading the word of marx throughout britain and attempting to gain support for marxist theories and ideas.

At the moment we are a fairly small group but with members joining all the time, we are expanding at a good pase.

We are currently holding regular meetings, working on a book project, moving towards mass leafleting in our local area, hoping to hold a rally in the not to distant future and organising a music festival in our name.

We hope we have your full support in what we are trying to achieve and if any members from any part of the world or country wish to join that would be fantastic.

We also hope this website can be of use to us for recruting members, learning more ways to spread the word of marx and of course reamain on contact with our fellow lefties.

cheers, representative of the peoples union.

Why have you set up this new group? What is its specific programme and method that is different to the already existing marxist organisations? Glad you are involved in the struggle however!

In what way do you differ say form the socialist appeal. I think there are too many groups in britain, but as long as we all work together i suppose it doenst really amtter too mutch.

hi, glad your interested in our group. We feel current marxist groups are 1)not active in our local area 2)only target specific groups of workers 3)too reactionary eg the birtish communist party.

We also feel our methods are more sucessful than the majority of marxist groups in gaining interest and support. Unlike most gropus we do not 'ram' marxism down peoples throats which tends to turn them away. We have simple messages that actually show how we can help workers and what gains come from marxism.

Also, we do not use symbols such as the hammer and sicle and try to avoid refering to the theory as 'communism' due to its bad reputation.

Im sure there are groups who have the same ideas and at the end of the day we are all vanguard parties with one aim. To bring people to revolutionary level. so more the better imo.

i agree 100%. we will never make comrades our enemies. The bnp are fairly large in our area and racism is becoming a problem. All the left should unite to tackle this problem. And for all other problems for that matter.

might I ask, just out of interest, what part of the UK you are from/is the bulk of your membership active? There are comrades from all around the UK on this forum who are affiliated to various organisations. It is great to hear you are forming a group for local action, wherever you are!

Please, introduce yourself in the UK Comrades thread somewhere lower down in the Lounge. I hope you find an opportunity to reach other members from your local area.
In struggle,
Ben
