President Bush will be in Aurora at the Caterpillar plant. Join labor, anti-war activists, environmentalists and all pro-democrats at the UAW Hall in Aurora Tuesday night and at the Cat plant Wednesday.
As you know, George W Bush is supposed to be in Aurora on Wednesday night to sign the Transportation bill. We have been told that the signing will take place at the Caterpillar Plant which is at the intersection of Route 30 and Orchard Road at the South edge of Aurora. There is a huge rally scheduled on the Tuesday night at the UAW hall which is close to Caterpillar at 1700 Oakton Road, Montgomery, Illinois 60538. Labor groups, environmentalists, anti-war groups, community groups, and others will be there to protest Bush's presence and make clear our opposition to the broad range of his policies.
On Wednesday morning, at 8:30 AM or before, we will gather again in the parking lots of the UAW hall. People can leave their cars safely at that location. Once there, we will rally and then move as close to the Caterpillar Plant as we are able to get. The planning for this portion of the event has been difficult. We are being kept in the dark about when Bush will arrive, where and when the actual signing will take place, and how close we will be able to get to the plant. But, the media will already have been made very aware of our presence and our values. The situation must necessarily remain somewhat fluid until we actually get there. We should have more details tomorrow.
