Hello.

I'm 33 years old, and I live in California.

I'm not a communist, but I'm intereseted in learning. I have been reading several websites, including Redstar's excellent site. I've also perused Marxists.org as well.

I find this site to be an great resource also. I don't plan on posting a whole lot, as I'm mainly interested in learning. I also need to learn to weed out all the kiddie crap.

I have an open mind, as I refuse to believe in everything that I've been conditioned to believe since I was a child (capitalism good, communism bad). With that said, I don't swallow ideologies wholesale. Been there, done that, and paid dividends for it.

Anyway, thanks. :)

welcome!...and as what can only be described as an Anti-Marxist I likewise welcome your reading into Marxism and left ideologies. I'd encourage you not to cling to closely to any dogma and to seek the full truth.

I can only imagine. Basically if one becomes a Marxist, then one becomes a "traitor" to this country, the USA.

Its a bit of an irony reading it really. Mao goes on about how there needs to be criticizms of the party and freedom of speach and stuff while hes in reality doing all tha he can to stop any discent from the party line.

Hi! Check out this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_communism) wikipedia entry on left communism. Read it through and if you find it interesting you can check out some of the texts I have linked to in this (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=38323&st=0&#entry1291910774) thread.

And finally I would very much recomend you to check out this site:
http://www.prole.info/introduction/intro_0.html
Here you have an easy and pedagogic introduction to a kind of anti-political insurectionist communism; anarchist communists as well as non-leninist marxists will probably like it. The http://www.prole.info/ site is great in general.

Happy reading! :)

"bombard the headquarters"-Mao

He encouraged and practiced party criticism, that was the point of the cultural revolution to get the people involved in the direction of the party.

Yeh, and lets all pretend how thats what it achieved. It just further centralized power into mao's hands.
