Why couldnt there be? I don't see what the problem here is.

Professional sports = entertainment.

Without entertainment how do people work to their fullest ability?

They can't. Thus sports will be a profession.

Although that doesn't make you suddenly not a jackass for playing a game your whole life.

The fans of sports can organise event's it’s not that hard. "Antifa" the Anti-fascist group organise anti-fascist football competitions. They seek to promote football but in an anti-fascist and self organised way. :)

what about salaries? sponsors? things like that

Salaries? There will be no money in a communist society, Labour and its products must be exchanged without price, without profit, freely according to necessity. This logically leads to ownership in common and to joint use.

Sponsors? As in Capitalist sponsors. There will be no need to fund the sport as there is no money in a Communist society as I said before.

I would suggest promoting sports in a communist society. It would make the community more integrated.

I dont see professinal sports player as a job in communism, while they do entertain they arent doing anything productive. If the people want games they can organize them themselves as others have said and compete with other local communities and the winner moves up so on and so on until theres a country(i know there arent countries in communism im using this to describe the vastness of the competition) wide competition.

I think people will participate a lot more and watch a lot less than they do now.

I think an essential part of communism is the fuzzying, as I call it, of the division of labor. In capitalism, one is either a doctor or a 'pro' athlete, he is not both. In communism, he can be both. Indeed, we will see the 'pro' athletes doing streetsweeping or factory work or farming. All the lines and divisions of rigid capitalism will be broken.

There is a site called "Urban 75" I think the website is www.urban75.com it's a website of lefties but it has everything of working class culture like rave, football and games etc. It's a really good website. If you talk to them they would be able to give you really good answers on this.

As I said before from what I know Antifa are the best people for you're sports questions, they organise anti-fascist fundraises in the form of sports events. Email them and the next time they organise something go along to the event and see what you make of it. ;)

i was wondering this my self since i play sports in particular boxing and skateing.
but i think a pro athelete needs to be 100% comitted to his art in order to be the best but then agian their not producing anything usefull but entertainment so it is a really tuff qeustion.

wich i have no answer to lol! :D
