How many parties exist in Cuba?

What parties are legal?

Are there any other parties beside the Communist Party which are legal?

Are there any illegal parties?

Thank you.

The Parties:

I know you can run for parliament as a Communist or an Independent but I don't know if other parties are legal.

The Communist party is the only legal party in Cuba, but it is not an electoral party eg It does not stand for an election as an organisation, but it's members do. There are members in the Cuban parliament who are not in the Communist Party. There are a couple of Baptist ministers in the parliament for example.

Are you a Social Democrat?

Nope, I'm a communist. :P

That means that I believe in democracy and freedom from religion.

But... whatever...

No, I'm against the bourgeois party monopoly. I think people should be allowed to group together whenever they want.

I'm sorry you think socialism is political injustice. But I don't view it that way.

The Communist party is the only legal party in Cuba,
It's the only legally recognised party, and the constitution says there should be only one party.

But some of the other parties mentioned on Wikipedia function more or less openly, and AFAIK nobody's been prosecuted simply for belonging to them. Which is what it normally means to say a party's been banned.

A number of these groups recently had a small, massively publicized public meeting in Cuba; nobody was arrested.

So Clarksist has a problem with pro-revolution Christians being represented in parliament, and at the same time with anti-revolution people not being represented. "What more proof is need that" Clarksist doesn't think?

Parliamentary "democracy" isn't the only kind of democracy that exists, you know.

Hahahahahaha.

So true.

But that is bullshit that seperation of church and state is "all that matters". What matters is that religion is ERADICATED from the country by taking the money out of it.

But I guess they just don't care.
