I'm pretty sure all the bands I've mentioned (and many others) are better than the Offspring, SOAD, Shitallica, Iron Maiden, Nirvana and solo Ozzy. Oh, and since when is Ozzy a "band"? If you include him, you must include "solo" artists like Bob Dylan, Hendrix, Zappa, Lennon, etc.

I would only keep led zeppelin and queen on that list and replace the other bands with some of the ones mentioned above. I like the Chili peppers and nirvana, but there are better bands to put in their places.

Out of what was listed I will say Queen, the most diverse, and talented out of the options. Led Zep may be a popular choice but they weren't a great band. Don't get me wrong I am a fan, but they were known to let it slip live, and that to me is what a band is. Also the guitar (and I have heard all their albums, being a fan) is kind of sloppy in general. Queen 1 Led Zep 3 behind the RHCP 2

The obest thing about Immigrant Song is that the funky opening riff is dead easy to play. It flatters my poor guitar skill. :P

I voted Queen. I actually think it's a dead heat between Queen and Zep on that list, but I thought more people would vote for Zep, so I voted for Queen... And everyone is right, the other bands on that list just fade into insignificance when compared to those two. I mean, I like SOAD, but they're good, not great.

Black Sabbath for all intents and purposes ceased to exist in the mid-seventies. After that there were former members of Black Sabbath who felt they couldn't make it under a different name so they continued to use that name.

Out of the choices provided though, I think I’ll go with Queen. I think pretty much everyone agrees that Metallica are untalented sell-outs by now. Iron Maiden was always boring; they sounded like every other metal band of the time and are thus just as overrated as Judas Priest. System of a Down was fun to listen to at first but certainly can’t be taken seriously as great “music”, especially not their most recent nu-metal stuff. Ozzy’s solo career blew with the exception of four or five songs and should not have even been mentioned considering Black Sabbath was already on the list. Black Sabbath’s early, initial work was great but they didn’t expand their sound enough to keep interest. It wasn’t until that short period that Dio took over that the band was worth listening to again. I was never particularly fond of the Chili Peppers, but that’s more of a choice of personal preference rather than them just being bad musicians I think. I like the Offspring and have quite a few of their albums but would never consider them even in the top fifty greatest bands. Led Zeppelin could easily be a candidate for best band, but ultimately not my person choice… Regardless, good job listing them. My feelings on Nirvana are pretty much what I stated about the Offspring.

And what’s with this “no country or rap” stuff? I thought that would have been a given if we were looking for the best band :D
