A few months ago, someone posted that he or she wanted to convert his or her vinyl collection to MP3. Last night, I found this webpage and it explains everything. This person probably figured out how to do all this by this time, but I think this would be a good page to show to people who have a tape or vinyl collection and wish to preserve it.

That person may have been me.
I actually kind of gave up when someone told me the cost of the apparatus required.

That website shows the guy using some little preamp mixer... do you think I can just use my amp instead? That way there's no need to buy new shit...

thanks for the link, though.

I have a CD recorder that you can hook up to your computer and either a tape player or recprd player. You the with the recorder you can simply convert the tapes/records to CDs or Mp3 format on your computer.
