has anyone read this book before?
Thoughts? Comments?

It's the next thing on my reading list - after Trotsky's 'History of the Russian revolution'!

Surprising.

Emma Goldman was a pretty big anarchist, wasn't she? No wonder she disapproved of the USSR so much. I'd like to read her material eventually, you'll have to tell me what you thought of it.

I've read her collection, "Anarchism and other essays" and would like to read more of her stuff.

"The Tragedy of Women's Emancipation" (I may be paraphrasing here) is a really awesome essay about the failures of bourgeois first wave feminism. There are also essays on political violence and anarchistic schooling, good stuff. She also had a really great writing style; she was very much into literature, particularly Ibsen. (The first Goldman I read was her review of an Ibsen play for school actually. How random!)
