now that the republicans won the senate we can kiss many civil liberties goodbye, corporations will be given more freedom to runamuck, womens reproductive choice will be restictive and so on. I am furious and scared. is it safe to say that big brother is here?

It's a shame really. It seems the people of the US really do wish to wage war on the rest of the world.
I was hoping that bush would be given a clear message that the people are against killing civilians and causing more terrorist actions.
Obviously they aren't.

What was percentage of voter turnout?

oh jesus, so your telling me i have to put up with seeing Bush on the cover of the newspaper every bloody day here in NZ?

I can see why people dont vote, like Rage said, because there is no real choice. But i mean people could have rallied up and voted for the lesser evil.

there will be some CIA dog reading our every post.

overthrow the fascist regime.

Over here is NZ I think the second highest vote was the non vote. the good thing is people are losing faith in this shitty bourgeoise democracy. next stop REVOLUTION.

In most areas, less than 50%.

Well this sucks.
I've already visited sites that _are_ monitored, and posted.
www.raisethefist.com , www.radio4all.org and www.indymedia.com to name a few.
Im pretty sure it's safe to say,
Big Brother's watching

Yeah, things suck and they're going to get worse! Still, we just have to carry on as best we can.

I've read there are people in England who are trying to organize a boycott of American products. That may not seem like much--but remember that the first protests of anti-semitism in the 3rd Reich were people boycotting German products. ANY resistance to the American Empire helps, even if only a little.

There are very few "IRON LAWS" of history, but there is one of which I'm absolutely certain: NO EMPIRE IS ETERNAL.

Australia has had six years of conservative government.

Our PM lied to us and said refugees threw children overboard. He allowed balaclavas and guard dogs to promote his industrial relations policies. He used the race card to divide the nation and maintain power. He has undermined the civi liberties of activists. He has refused to apologise to native Australians for over 200 years of white oppression.

But he congratulated George W Bush on the election outcome.

And the little Johnny defends ASIO storming Indonesians houses. What a freak. That whole house storming got me really annoyed, how dare they storma house, scare all the children as well as the parents. It was totally unnecessary. I have a better way of doing it. Go around during the day, knock on the door, and tell them why they require their presence at a designated location. simple.
