PFLP Press Release

The collapse of the Sharon Government is a victory for the Intifada and
the Resistance and a defeat for Sharon and his promises.

A West Bank spokesman for the Popular Front for the Liberation of
Palestine has issued the following statement:

"The further deterioration of the Israeli security, economic, and
social crises in the face of the march of the Intifada and the blows of
the resistance, which have led up to the political crisis in the
terrorist Sharon government and his resort to dissolving the Knesset
and setting an early date for parliamentary elections, all this
constitutes a victory for the struggle of our people to defeat Sharon's
promises and the dreams of his government to subdue the esistance and
Intifada, smash the Palestinians national institutions, and wipe out
their inalienable national rights.

"The outbreak of this Zionist political crisis in the shadow of the
emerging international, regional and local conditions in the first
place the Zionist genocidal war against out steadfast Palestinian
people and the aggression that America is plotting against Iraq and
against the people, states, and wealth of our Arab nation sounds the
alarm warning us of the necessity to stop fleeing from the objective
national demands that we reinforce our national steadfastness and unity
in the field, and bring about national unity by way of the path that
the Patriotic and Islamic Forces have agreed upon.

This is the formation of a united national leadership and
a comprehensive national dialogue inside and outside Palestine, with
the activation and development of the Palestine Liberation Organization
on a democratic basis in accordance with a contemporary election law
that would go beyond the limits set by the Oslo Agreements, and on the
basis of proportional representation. This will strengthen the unity
of the people and their national and democratic struggle and their
rights to return, self-determination and the establishment of their
completely sovereign state with its capital in Jerusalem."

The whole situation, which is talked about very much here, of Isreal and the Palestines is very difficult. If their will ever be a soluiton, I think so. But both sides will have to work for that solution. And that is very difficult, especially since the people there act on their own, not because the government wants them too. And because of the very difficult situation, the faults of both sides and the reason why one side is better then the other. Because of the difficult situation and because I don't know too much aboout it, I will choose neither side. But I think, too much people on this site automatically choose the palestine side without real good reasons and after hearing the story from two sides. That is something which is very important, you have to hear both sides for getting your conclusion. And I think, I haven't heard enough information from both sides to get to an conclusion. So the moral is, some of the people here should first get to know more about the whole situation and then get an conclusion.

yeah...grand achievement...firstly, they shouldn't take the credit, because the intifada actually united the israeli people behind sharon, and depsite the difficult situation, sharon enjoys immense popularity, and is likely to get reelected. anyway, if he won't get reelected, netanyahu will, and that ain't better.

and oh, yeah...great job for the intifada on creating a difficult financial crisis in israel...now, there are over a million poor people in israel... i thought you were suppose to care about workers...

israel aheret is a group of elitistics seeking political influence. today in maariv a very good article was published about them in the Deot section, but Uriya Shavit. you should read it... i hope they won't get into the knesset... i hope Hadash will strengthen. very unlikely, but if they get 4 seats instead of 3, i'll be happy.

isn't it frustrating... there are so many good people in the knesset, but the people will elect a right wing leader and the rightist parties will only get stronger... it's quite frustrating to sit aside and watch it all happen... lately i've became a big fan of hadash.. they're the most serious party in the knesset, and Tamar Gujanscki is probably the best legislator in the knesset. she passed dozens of laws, and her party onlyh has 3 seats! i think it's amazing...and good laws also...

they do a lot of good things, but let face it, they are a party in decay. it is hard to see them disappearing from the political map. and i am afraid to know what will shas will get in this elections.

shas is weakening, according to the polls. they lost a lot of votes for the likud, and i think that we should credit Deri for that, because he refused to support them, and all his guys are gonna vote likud.

i think that we should change the whole system to presidential democracy like in europe. there are way to many sectorial parties in the knesset, like the russians, the charedim, the conservatives (mafdal), the arabs, am echad and all that... we should get to a point where we have the Labour party, the likud, the extreme right and the extreme left... 4, maybe 5 parties...
