They'll want you to buy tee-shirts and bead necklaces and stuff, but just click that yellow button .
They need those sponsors otherwise they'd have to ask for donations. The point of the site is to get people who normaly wouldn't donate to get a sponsor to donate instead.
Also don't think that just by clicking the button you're doing your part to end hunger. The people who recieve the food need agricultural and industrial reform to feed themselves in the long run (. . .teach a man to fish. . .)
thehungersite.com (and America's Second Harvest and the Mercy Corps) are for temperary relief to save lives in current jepordy of starvation.
Unfortunately 30% of the sponsor's funds go to "the hunger relief efforts in the United States". Even the worst off begger in the U.S. eats more then the entire population of some nations.
That said, the other 70% goes to hunger relief efforts around the world.
And it's not like it costs you anything more then five seconds.
