Are there any sympathisers of the american SWP (not to be confused with the British one), that can persuade me to change my mind that it is an actual party and not a corporation with franchise operations overseas?
I mean they sell books that cost an arm and leg, and yet over here (New Zealand), they do nothing (its starting to slightly change now), where does all the money go? To keep Barnes in his flash New York apartment or to put gas in his beamer.

They want to arm the farmers and factory workers. Their presidential and vice-presidential nominees were both industrial unionists-workers...that is all that I can gather from the speaches that they give. I can't find a website-I've heard that they don't have one. If they do I would like a link. I don't believe that they actually have any plans for post-revolution governance...most groups like them don't. From what I can tell, they are withering away. I wouldn't worry about them, they don't really do anything and they have almost no following, especially among the people they claim to be the representatives of.

The SWP (US) does seem to enjoy making money for its party leaders quite a bit. I think that they also sued the Marxist Internet Archive for publishing "their" material.

Robs right, they did sue someone. And do you know what for? For putting Trotsky's work on the net. They claimed that it might be "misrepresented". I mean is someone going to read it and actually want to do something for the revolution.
One day I want to spend many hours copying Trotsky's work and put it on the net and tell the SWP to f... off.
their site is : www.pathfinderpress.com or www.themilitant.com
they are links to their fiancial wing, they probably dont have another site because it wont make the money like the militant and all their books can.

Tomorrow afternoon I will be attending one of their meetings. I would be glad to ask them any questions that you guys have.
If anyone has any more questions they would like me to ask, please post them.

Ask them if Jack Barnes is on the payroll and if so how much does he get?
And ask if Jack Barnes has even had a working class job, or even had a conversation with a worker.
And does all the money go towards paying the bureaucracy?
out. if they answer them I'd love to hear the answers.

So internationally SWP are pricks? That's good news. Now I can just generalise the bastards to hell. :)
While at any political event over here, everyone gives out free leaflets and papers, SWP are away annoying people to death to buy their magazine and their paper and to join the fucking party. I was at Marxism 2002 which was hosted by SWP and I don't know how many times I was asked to join.

Where are you from?
We had a Marxism 2002 conference here in New Zealand as well. Thankfully the CL(communist league) which is the nz SWP live in Auckland and Christchurch(were I'm from) All they do over here is turn up to other peoples events and sell expensive irrelevent newspaper. They won't even consider setting up a nz paper cos the militant is all they need. Idiots.

Born of Zapatas Guns,
the british SWP is way different to the U$ one. Just recently they sold their print shop in New York for 20million US$ and they are still hassling people to cough money for some unknown reasons

Hmmm... Wish I could provide some help on this one, however the SWP (USA) is probobly the only leftist group that I've never actually met anyone who was a member of it.
