Sitting here on my desk puffing on a sweet blunt I observe with regret that every time the left has attempted to wrest power from the ruling class (in the U.S.) the latter has always anticipated every move it will do. The rightists are not only vicious imperialists but they are master strategists. To prove that you need to only look at the 1960s. I mean if you're Kennedy, Johnson, J. Edgar Hoover, Nixon or any top level thug you know that social conditions are dismal and wretched for Blacks, Asians, Native Americans and women. You know that the lower classes are not going to stand for it much longer and that the lid is going to blow. So when it blew it wasn't a surprise for these motherfuckers--- they kept us all in check.
What strategies can we adopt from our grandfatherly '60s? They were a bunch of well-meaning but hapless saps who pretty much let their government murder millions of people in Vietnam. I wonder if this generation will again roll out the red carpet for this government do kill millions of people again? We're heading in that direction. Iraq is pointing the way showing us our impotence to do anything effective.
