Instead of joining this revolutionary youth group, why don't you join the YCL I'm sure they have some members in Pittsburgh.

the YCL is a division of the very reactionary communist party. I was considering it but then I realized they never say anyhting about socialism. You could honestly mistake them for democrats. Thanks for the input though

Yeah I came to the same conclusion about the YCL. Communists that support a capitolist party. Fucking reactionaries.

Here's a group with a branch in Pittsburgh which definitely doesn't then:
Socialist Workers Party
5907 Penn Ave. Suite 225. Zip: 15206. Tel: (412) 365-1090.
Maybe a Young Socialists chapter, same address if there is.

See my sig for a link to the newspaper if you want an idea of what they stand for.

What is the SWP? Trotskyist? I think so. Just wondering. They are the only communist party (yes, they're communists) that fields presidential candidates in the US anymore, or at least in Florida.

More or less.

And yes, almost the only one, or the only one taking a principled stand for working-class political independence....others, like Workers World, run token campaigns on the ballot in a few states, or like the Socialist Party, only actively ran in states where they could be sure it wouldn't hurt Kerry's chances.

The comrade is obviously trying to start a new branch.. the Revolutionary Youth is the youth wing of the Free People's Movement, which has established branches in 4 countries and numerous cities.

Check the links in my sig.
