Who thinks that RevLeft and Che-Lives combined could start a revolution?

No chance. For a revolution we need all (or a significant number) of the proletariat on side, something that a mere internet message board is unlikely to achieve...

Discussions on the internet won't go anywhere in starting anything. It isn't like we are a party and organize protests and so on.

Um...if a bunch of people from Revleft got together they *could* probably *start* a revolution...

...but they'd have a hard time finishing it :-p.

No it didn't. The Che-Lives community turned into RevLeft. Che-Lives as a site still exists, though I don't know if that's what he was refering to...

I meant the people on Rev Left and Che-Lives, although most of them are the same.

Let the bourgeoisie tremble at the might of RevLeft.

Umm... how many members get on this? 4,000? 5,000 tops?

We are outnumbered by Christo-Fascist militias right there. Maybe we could be a self-sufficient community... but that's doubtful.

I highly doubt a bunch of reactionary Stalinist teenagers will succeed in anything other than getting a high score on their favorite video games.
What exactly is that supposed to mean?

He's saying that all of us Communists, Marxists, Leninists, Anarchists, Anarcho-Communists, etc. are Stalinists and that none of us do anything all day but veg out and try to get high scores on video games.

Mainly because he must be ignorant.

That's what I figured. There was a hint of sarcasm there. I am not a stalinist or a reactionary and I have a lot better things to do besides playing video games. Sorry I don't live up to your expectations.

That I would agree on, I would end up loosing my temper. Certainly there would be a split between the Anarchists and Marxists. I remember when I was up in Edinburgh some Anarchists I was with were taking the piss out of a bunch of Leninists.

But are you people serious? You think this forum can start a revolution? I certainly think not where too separated all over the world. Besides I would prefer working with my own political organization rather than a internet forum.

sorry. I was making broad generalizations based on some members of this site (stalinists). The video game comment was a bit out of taste, I agree.

Oh you can attack stalinsts all you want. I have no problem with that. Kind of despise them myself.

Not me, everyone here thinks implementation is a bad idea. They're waiting for the time to ripen.

Sorry guys, but here's the problem- Unless this system hits the American people in the place where it would hurt them most, namely their wallet, revolution doesn't have a chance.

I look to examples around the world, such as Mexico. In that country, your family either has a huge house with a wall around it with bodyguards watching the place 24/7, or you have a house that might have a floor instead of dirt and are debating whether or not to cut back on the food budget to buy new shoes or not this month. That country is ripe for revolution.

If you want revolution here, the middle class must be decimated. That is the only way for the middle class to be motivated to do something. The rich must get richer, the poor must get poorer, and the middle class must have their attention drawn away from their bread and circuses as they realize they have become poor and the rich now own their asses. This concept that they must keep electing the people on the Right because they will one day also be rich has to made clear as a myth.

I cringe to say it, but if you want revolution, register with a communist or socialist party, and then vote Neo-Con Republican. They have done the most effective job at creating the conditions needed for revolution. They have looted the treasury of our capital, they have channeled more wealth upwards to those who need it the least, and ensured the upper class of their continued control of our society.

The conditions for revolution simply are not dire enough yet.
