Yeah, I'm a fan of Rage. They're pretty good. Audioslave's pretty sweet. Their last concert was in Cuba. First American band to play in Cuba, baby! Tom Morello, guitarist for both bands, has a sihloette of Che on his amp.

Actually, three members of Audioslave were members of Rage, Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, and Tim Of-Many-Last-Names. The only one who wasn't in Rage is Chris Cornell, formerly of Soundgarden. It kind of pissed me off what Audioslave did in Cuba, though. They performed Killing in the Name, a song which their exhiled vocalist Zack de la Rocha wrote. Anyone who's ever been in a band knows you just don't do that sort of thing.
Oh, btw, I think Tim is actually an anarchist. That is, if the upside down American flag with the anarchy symbol painted on it which he hangs from his amp is any indication.

It's more like the band "left him". They thought he was taking everything too seriously (like revolution", and when he didn't agree to tone it down, they split up.
RATM was such an amazing band(especially for being so "mainstream" and not "selling out"), I own everything of their's!!!

Oh hush up Enigma. Nobody's forcing you to like to them.
It's more like the band "left him". They thought he was taking everything too seriously (like revolution", and when he didn't agree to tone it down, they split up.
The band more or less did run him out, but I've read it was for different reasons. They basically couldn't take his anger management problem (something for which I'm fairly certain he's still in therapy over; the guy has major issues with his father) and there was alot of butting of heads over the solo project he was working on (which still hasn't come out).
In keeping with Fidelbrand's post, some of my favorite lines:
"Yes I know my enemies
They’re the teachers who taught me to fight me
Compromise, conformity, assimilation, submission
Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite
All of which are American dreams"
And...
"So now I'm rollin' down Rodeo
With a shotgun
These people ain't seen a brown skin man
Since their grandparent's bought one"

I was under the impression that Zack left on his own accord... after the bands success failed to have the political impact he hoped for he left the band to work solo, and that when Michael Moore told Tim Commerford to climb the stage rigging at the 2000 MTV awards Zack felt that it undermined the bands political stance...
please correct me if I'm wrong...

Well I've read just about everything I could get my hands on concerning the band as they were/are my all time favorite, and I never heard anything along those lines. I'm not saying it's not true, but I don't think that it was really anything that petty.

I'd be interested to see the different "Reasons" why Rage broke up. Is there a site out there? Thanks.

Because it's not out. I checked CDNow and all it had was a TBA listing for the album. ZDLRNet only had speculation, so I'm assuming it has yet to be released. Apparently, according to an interview with Reznor excerpted by ZDLRNet, Trent Reznor has produced and helped to arrange 19 tracks for Zack but they've yet to be released, and there's no explanation from Zack for the delay. It's rather irritating for those of us who have been hearing about and waiting for this album for like five years now. He's supposedly cut tracks with
?uestlove of The Roots and Chuck D. Combine those with the Iraq War protest song "March of Death" that he did with Roni Size, and "Center of the Storm" with DJ Shadow, and he has to have 25+ finished tracks. It's left me saying, "Will you just have someone take a picture of you for the cover and release a fucking album already?!?"

The most recent information I could find:
According to a Spin magazine interview with de la Rocha, he has recorded several tracks with various artists, among them Reprazent and DJ Shadow. As of March 2005, there is no information on when de la Rocha's solo album will be released...
