I want to take this topic and think of as many arguments against capitalism that capitalists use, to analyze this argument, and to research and create the best response. What does everyone think some arguments against communism are?

My two cents:
Human Nature
The myth of stalinism being communism
Communist economics
Freedoms in a communist society

What other arguments against communism have you heard? I want this thread to be as organized as possible and would appreciate it if this thread didn't degenerate into an argument between communists as to the correct response. Post cappie arguments, your contribution to a precise response, cite sources, keep this thread efficient! If this works then we can just create a list of answers to these arguments and sticky them in the opposing ideologies or learning section.

I'm a bit skeptical of the "FAQ" approach to these kinds of questions...can you really refute a "human nature" argument (for example) in a few sentences?

Or summarize "communist economics" in less than 10,000 words?

More importantly, do people even learn from such "catechisms"?

One thing that can be said about "debating the same questions" over and over again...it may sharpen our responses and force us to think more deeply about a question.

Just giving someone a link doesn't really do that -- unless you're prepared to elaborate on it at considerable length.

The point of this is to create a thorough response with evidence cited that can be presented to capitalists. When new aspects of the argument come up, the argument can be evolved to counter it. I think this would be a much more productive way of debating instead of repeating the same thing to the same person over and over and going in circles.
