This is something that I don't totaly understand, I asked a friend and he said this:
"economics is politics, but politics isnt always economics, so right wing is politics, but its economical politics"

..which confused me further, can anyone elaborate on this or post some useful links?

Well economics is only production, consumption and management of material wealth whereas Politics is concerned with power (usually over people). The two are completely interlinked, economical distributions translate into a form of power and political rule almost always means the control of economic systems.

"Right-wing is politics, but its economical politics"

Well, uh so is the Left-wing. What have all Lefties got in common? We all want at the very least a fairer distribution of wealth (economics). The right-wing in terms of economics means the allowance for free-market, neo-liberal and capitalist economics.

The only thing that comes to bind is that your friend is blowing out of his ass.
