Im sure we've all heard or read up about the issue of the Haitian immigrants that came to Miami by boat and how horribly they were treated by the police.
This is no surprise, seeing as how Mexicans and Central Americans who come to the U.S. illegaly are arrested and/or deported if they don't complete paperwork. But did you know that when Cubans come to the U.S. they automatically become residents when they set foot in it whithout any paperwork?
Look at this:
Haitian, Mexican & Central American Immigrants = Poor workers moving to the U.S. in order to survive and least likely to agree with the U.S. government.
Cuban Immigrants = Anti-communist batistaites who are simply moving to the U.S. because they hate equality.
Notice a trend here?...

Indeed, it shows us at least a couple of things:
-U$ Governments are still afraid of Revolutionary Cuba, so they welcome its oppositors.
-Racism got a lot to do with economical factors. "If you ain´t got money, you´re worth a shit, and you´re not welcome in my country, so go back where you belong."

At least Cubans are allowed to, albeit their supposed reason is a bunch of crap. In Australia, if you're a muslim, you get locked into a detention centre for a year or more away from your family.
Unfortunately the only exaggeration I made was that 'if you're a muslim.' But muslims illegally entering Australia's waters are subjescted to the above treatment.
Sorry, this is off the topic. Please continue with the Cuban/Haitian comparison.

The cuban imigrants should thank Castro every fucking day, because thanks to his "evil" regime they have more rights in the US than any other nationality. They'll have to pray to god that comunisn doesn't end in Cuba cause we all know what's going to happen for those "poor political refugees" If It does.
IN OTHER WORDS, BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM!

Certainly. Notice how the U.S. government desperately tried to pin the "terrorism" label on Cuba after Sept. 11th - even though Castro openly condemned the attacks as well as terrorism and its the U.S. and their Miami Mafia that's using terrorism (or "counter-terrorism" as the hypocrites like to call it) against Castro. The U.S. government is indeed, still very sore about their puppet leader Batista being overthrown and them not being able to dominate Cuba like the rest of the world.

The US says that they welcome Cubans because they are "political refugees" fleeing a 'communist system' (because as we all know, that's the only possible way someone can be a political refugee...right? -- you sense the sarcasm, I'm sure). The people of Haiti (I assume most claimed to be political refugees – which could very well be true) came to the US most likely because of the economic strife in Haiti, considering that the refugees came from the slums of Port-au-Prince this is very obvious. What pisses me off the most is that if a Haitian-American living in the US (sometimes they are second generation and have never even been to Haiti let alone speak French or Creole) is committed of a crime (most likely a drug offense) they are usually deported back to Haiti and detained in jail or "detention centres" or released to family (if they have any there). And this American ignorance is greatly contributing to the whopping crime rate increase in Haiti, THIS IS AMERICA’S PROBLEM, NATIONALITY SHOULDN’T BE A FACTOR! These people are most likely criminals because of their environmental and cultural influences living in the US, (I do believe that Marx said that the country's crime is a direct response to that country's economic system). We have a decent amount of Haitians living here in Quebec (granted these were most likely middle-upper class people fleeing the Duvaliers) and they get along famously with us, and are helping to shape the image of the Quebecois into a more wholesome one. We love them as if their families have lived here for hundreds of years, and we wouldn’t deport any Haitian-Canadian criminals, we would put them through our own judicial system and deal with our own ‘problem’ (if not, I'd be out there protesting the deportation). The US merely looks for the easiest way out every time. I have actually seen television shows comemorating the Haitian culture in Canada, I loved it! :)

At least, Haitians have it a lot more better in Canada...!
For a good understanding of how the U$ has been involved and is directly responsible of most of today´s horrible situation in Haiti, we should read an outstanding book called "The uses of Haiti" (Common Courage Press), by Paul Farmer, with prologue by Noam Chomsky.

I haven't read that yet, but I'm going to. I've read "Haiti in focus" it's a short book but it has a lot of information and it's easy to dig up more information on what is mentioned there. It's a good overview of the culture, politics and economic situation in Haiti.

Well, thats the case in most country's everyone is subject to the same laws. I think the U.S. are the only ones itching to deport people so badly.

It's good that all they need is their ID. But hopefully someday their country will be stable enough and the people who have left Haiti in the past will feel safe enough to go home, if that's what they want, and most of them do.
Here's a little piece of irony...... In Haiti they tell zombie stories and there is a well known one about a female zombie named Felicia Felix-Mentor. Neato huh, I'm named after a zombie :)
Oh yeah, I hope you're joking about being taught how to make zombies, lol. And the person to teach you, he's the guy I'm thinking of right? The one you told me about before? I remember his name but I shouldn't say it.
