Well, most people see DKM as punk/folk, and a lot of people (including myself) have a hard time cutting a clear line between folk and country, which could lead to the confusion.

Either way:
Dropkick Murphys = cool (listen to Walk Away)
These guys = crud

Well, that's going a bit far. I try to be polite and you offend my taste, especially considering many people love Weezer and QOTSA. Furthermore my sig hasn't been updated in about a year, or more even. In the end it comes down to opinion and I really don't like SCT and think that DKM are much better as well as other bands. I would suggest people still listen to it themselves and find out their own opinions on them but I wouldn't be surprised if they're unpopular.

Also, having my taste insulted is kinda mean, I never insulted yours, just this band. I really hate it when people are like "OMFG that band is so bad because its not the chic thing at the moment". In the end it comes down to what you enjoy listening to, not what's "in" in your circle. I like The Sounds, Kasabian and DragonForce and I like it, you got a problem with it? Shove it!

Either way, rock on and always be open minded to new music! Don't be a filthy elitist!

Dropkick Murphys kinda blow

They're like Flogging Molly, but even less original and more repetitive.

And Dropkick Murphys are about as far from anything that I would call country as I can imagine.

That's just totally inacurrate (or however you spell that word).

The Dropkick Murphys are a street punk band with Irish influences, far from the Irish Folk stylings of those Pogues ripoffs, Flogging Molly. I'm not as big a fan of the Murphys as I used to be, but to say they're unoriginal and repetitive just makes no sense to me. They were doing the Irish thing long before it became the trend it has been for the last few years.

RedZep: I'm a cliche, but you're an elitist. Who's generally less of an asshole out of those two? Oh, and virtually everyone agrees they're folk punk, and as I said I have a problem telling the difference between country and folk usually (although I know DKM are not country)
