This new album by the legendary Ry Cooder tells the story of Chavez Ravine, a working-class community in Los Angeles which was bulldozed to make way for the Brooklyn Dodgers new stadium. The album also examines the Cold-War, anti-communist attitudes of the authorities, and how the interests of American business were allowed to destroy an entire community. I highly recommend this to anyone who's bored of the mass-produced, commercialised crap that litters the music scene.
