the united states of america is one of my favorite bands. i was just wondering if anyone else listens to them. they have great vocals and crazy synthesizer/electronic stuff that you wouldn't necessarily expect from a 60's band. they are a little reminiscient of jefferson airplane, though only because dorothy moskowitz's vocals are slightly similar to grace slick's, but the USA is, in my opinion, wayy better than jefferson airplane.
also, for your political sensibilities, joe byrd, the founding member, was a member of the communist party of the united states, AND the band dedicated a song to Che Guevara, "Love Song for Dead Che" (which is one of my favorites on the cd!)
anyway, i highly recommend them!
