I just got a message a few moments ago...
"ISRAELI GOVT COLLAPSES
Israel's coalition government is on the point of collapse after it was announced Labour's Knesset members would all resign.
The crisis was triggered by a disagreement over funding for Jewish settlements."
Anyone have any information?

yep...all the ministers from the labour party resigned, but it seems like sharon will manage to form a narrow, rightist-religious government. it was an irresponsible move by the labour party to leave the matters of the nation in the hands of ariel sharon and his hard-line friends.

no, if you ask me the labor should have resigned a long time ago. the fact that they were part of a government that started an official apartheid(the law that says there can be areas for jews ONLY), and didn't tried to change it, show what kind of party they are.

is it better to have Avigdor Lieberman as minister of foreign affairs and Shaul Mofaz as minister of defence?

i understand your position, ND, it is a position i have supported until lately. now, that i see that mofaz is on his way to the defence ministry, i realize that maybe being in a government with the likud is not the worst thing.
you can't have it all. this is not 1993, and Rabin isn't prime minister. the time of leftist governments in israel is over for now, so preventing a rightist government from rising is the best thing to do. by retiring from the government, the labour party is allowing an extreme rightist government to form, and i think it's worse that national unity.
