I dunno if this thread should be put here or in History section, yet i think that the discussion of ETA and it's past/present actions does not belong simply in history, so i leave the decision of letting this thread stay here or go to the history section in the hands of the mods.

First of all i want to state that i am not a supporter of "terrorism" in any of its forms, nor do i aprove the slaughter of inocents, yet i do endorse revolutionary direct actions, and so ETA is without question for me one of the most contorversial organizations in the world.

Before any discussion about this i would like to remember the role that ETA played in Spanish history, let us not forget that ETA fought the Franquist regim and as all revolutionary movements ahd it's ups and downs.
In my particular opinion i think that ETA may not be currently the best example for direct action, since it's actions do not envolve armed struggle but the use of bombist tactics that can be as prejudicial to the people as any imperialist army. Yet i would like to remember that ETA has the biggest record of high ranked militars assassinated in the history of European guerrilla movements, and that it was originally created has a true proletarian national liberation movement.
Yet i cannot stop thinking that it's present actions are directly affecting the lifes of inocent civilians, but let us not forget that ETA is perhaps the only "terrorist" movement that actually pays the families of the inocent victims, expecially when the victims are working class people.

I would so like to hear your opinion on this subject.
