A friend of mine (SloW WoO) stumbled across this site recently. It basically is a publication of a Pentagon report describing the impetus and battleplan for Operation Iraqi Freedom. You, if you're anything like me, won't believe how sensless the original motivation was. To say the least, siezing Iraq's oil reserves seems (after reading the beginning of this) was merely an ancillary benefit.
