Im not sure if this is in the right forum but I need some help. When I'm arguing with one of the many conservative capitalists in my area I can usually counter their arguments for the most part. But this one seems persistent. The argument got to the transition of capitalism to socialism. Here is their argument.
"To redistribute wealth to try to eliminate classes is basically stealing from the rich. Just because their successful doesn't mean they should be punished."
I know how I feel about this but I don't really know how to put it in words and not sound like an idiot. Any help?
By the way, I'm new to the forums, Hi! :D
They dodn't deserve to be rich more than anyone else? They have not necessarily worked harder for their resources....

Success? I read I think from Redstar2000 he made the statement, of inheritance. Sam Walton's children did nothing and got their father's wealth, and didn't do anything except be his children :che:

How did they get rich? By stealing the product of the collective labor of workers.
The conversation continues:...
Capitalist: But without the capitalist starting the company, they wouldn't have a job.
Communist: Without the workers making the products, the capitalist wouldn't survive.
Capitalist: But the capitalist/entrepreneur invented this product. They deserve to make money off of it.
Communist: Necessity is the mother of invention, not capitalism. If society truly needed that product, it would have been brought it into existence, one way or the other.
Capitalist: Ah, but not just anybody has the capital to create a new business.
Communist: Ah, but then it's really not intellect or ingenuity that led to this new business being created, but money. Sounds to me that the capitalist really does nothing productive in this. If working people controlled the purse strings of society, they could just as easily fund new enterprises that produce these newly needed items -- without the interference of the capitalist getting in the way.
And so on....
You can take it from here.

Now get ready for the more ignorant ones to launch the, "IT'LL BE A DICTATORSHIP!" Then you'll need to try the, "When Politicians have lived their entire lives wealthier than most people, do they truely represent us? It is just one more form of taxation without representation."
