Well, July 26 is coming up, and there will be some celebrations then, plus tere is always celebrations, events and fundraisers going on practically everyday.
As for protests, there has not been anything "big" recently, and I'm not sure if anything "big" is happening anytime soon.
However, if you want to get involved in some work, and do some serious activism, I would suggest joining the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (http://www.ocap.ca) or Anti-Racist Action (http://aratoronto.org) (and we have trip to London on Sunday, and a big conference in August, see our website). I'm involved with both so just PM me if you want more info.
I am also involved with a group called Toronto Forum on Cuba. Or main focus right now is on Posada Carilles, but we are also going to work on Cuban 5 and other solidarity with Cuba. We are a small committee right now and need more people.
There is also the Canadian Friends of Soviet People (http://www.northstarcompass.org) which is a solidarity group with the movement in the former Soviet Republics that wants to reestablish socialism. We have an international conference coming up, and there is always a need for writers for our organ, Northstar Compass which is read in about 70 countries.
Of course, CPC-ML (http://www.cpcml.ca) is always doing things, if you are interested in our work, let us know.
There are other groups around, like the YCL'ers (CPC youth) who are kewl comrades, their are some RCP (http://pcr-rcpcanada.org) comrades kicking around too if you are a Maoist you might be interested in them, aside from that almost everything else is Trotskyite.
There is also other groups here and there, No One Is Illegal - Toronto is a good group if you are interested in doing Immigrant Solidarity and stuff like that.
