I have a simple question:

Why does Cuba allow America to have GB on Cuba?

I mean, not only are relation strained between Cuba and USA but also I can't see Castro condoning what goes on in Guantanamo Bay either.

So why does he?

Why does Cuba allow America to have GB on Cuba?

There's a treaty in effect giving the US full "control and jurisdiction" over the area and because Castro cashed an early lease check, it can be argued that the Revolutionary Cuban Government legitamized the lease agreement and as such is bound by it.

More importantly, any attempt by Cuba to force the US out would almost certainly fail, not to mention that it would be seen as an act of war and precipitate a devastating response.

Don't kid yourself, if the US wanted, it could level Cuba.
