Wow. This song sounds EXACTLY like a part of the Soviet Anthem, and even has a chorus that sounds EXACTLY like the Red Army Choir. You can even sing the second two lines of any verse of the anthem (if you sing slowly). Thoughts? I'm tempted to call that Alexandrov fellow up and notify him of plagiarism. Not at all sure if this is intentional, but it sure as hell SOUNDS like it.

I actually don't know the soviet national Anthem. you know Pet shop boys performed that song on the "Live 8" show in moscow. Why that song,,of all their songs? Just curious:)

I'm not sure why they would theme such a song as "Go West" after the Soviet Anthem. Seems ironic, doesn't it? But still, there it is.

And here's a link (that I know works) to a neat recording of the Russian anthem (which has the same music as the Soviet anthem) so can get a feel for how it sounds.
Listen to the part that sounds like "Moguchaya volya, velikaya slava Tvoye dostoyanye na vse vremena!" You can sing that part over and over again to Go West.

Duuuuuhhh!!!This song was to the people just freed from the shackles of communism in the former eastern bloc telling them to 'Go West!' :P

Yeah, look at the video. They have a Red statue of liberty, all the guys look soviet, it's apparent they were told so/knew.

I am actually watching the video at the moment, it rocks!
But the effects are sooooo lame its funny, and the PSB are wearing those silly popcorn bowls on their heads... Go west! We all look like stupid sci-fi characters from the 30ties here! ;)

But it is cool with marsching russians and Soviet statues and such stuff. :)
