Vote for Karl Marx!!!

BBC is running a poll of the greatest philosophers of all time and Karl Marx is currently #10 falling from the #1 spot. The economist has called on all it's readers to vote to take Marx out of the top spot. Vote here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/inourtime/greatest_philosopher_vote_1to5.shtml) for Marx and show the reactionaries who the greatest philosopher of all time really is

I will not vote for Marx on that site, because they promote a "different" Marx.

A Marx which opposed socialist revolution!

Tell me you are kidding...

Just listen to that guy who wants you to vote for him. (on the BBC site)

So you cannot vote for Marx because some guy makes a 'bad' introduction of him?

Yes, partly.

Who cares about this anyway? As if anyone would give a damn if Marx won on this game show or not.

Well, you may not - But atleast I would. Yes, I do care - Because whatever the game show hosts and personal thinks, I could give a fuck less, but what the average Joe and Jane might catch up with if they just "happen to be" switchin' by it, is that Karl Marx seems to be a pretty grand guy if he were to win such a position (unless the Right Wing'er's manage to distort the truth, AGAIN, and proclaim it were a fraud or a hack or a voter's knock-off, or bribes, whatever), and become interested in him and his works, and do own research on their leisure. Maybe, but not sayin' this is top-one purpose for carrying on the revolution, but as for aiding it, it sure will. It would be a victory for Marxism, certainly enough - But most likely it would happen like RedStar predicts...they will call a "national emergency"! There were a representant of him, but he were not promoted openly. Except for Karl Marx on the icon, but that's just a face of an ol'bearded guy to "them", eh? Good to see him as a candidate, 'tho - Vote for him! :D

So M-L, if not Marx, putting aside Karl, who will you vote for then...Nietsczhe? HAH! ;)
(Calm down Nihilists, that was a joke!) Atleast I voted for Karl, that's fer sure! MEH!
Almost has a personal relationship with'rat guy, 'tho. A denying of his urge for a
socialist/Communist revolution doesn't mean people forget about it, 'tho.

I voted anyways; I do admit, it is something of a bad introduction, but people aren't going to base their entire idea of Marxism on a small paragraph.

One positive thing about voting for Marx is that if people see him ahead, they may try to learn more about him. And in the end, perhaps communism.

Plus I have WAY too much time on my hands right now.

voted.
The commentary made by Francis Wheen on Marx is short and precise.

... Hooray Marx!
I hope the BBC makes a big deal out of this...
but I know they won't.

I think Bertrand Russell should have one. He was a left-anarchist philosopher and mathematician. His ideas were similiar to Marx, but probably more focused on things like democracy and pasifism.

Marx won... holy shit that is actually something to be happy about. Even if I don't consider myself a big marxist type... its still good to know that one of the most famous commies won a popularity contest... I guess.
