Yo comrade. I'm in Aotearoa at the moment.
The traditional proletariat isn't very large here- that is those who don't own private property and must sell their labour. Though the capitalist structure [10%(ruling class) and -90% (producer class)] is intact as it is anywhere.
I don't see much chance at a popular revolution right now.
What needs to happen is a disciplined revolutionary organisation must take power with a popularmandate. Democratic centralism needs to be applied.
The dissatisfied Maori workers resentful about total Pakeha domination and the treason of their leaders (respect to Tariana Turia however) must become comrades in our struggle. British Imperialism didn't thoroughly mix with indigenous people in the way Portuguese and Spanish Imperialism did so the only way to iron out colonial legacies and inequality between these people is to allow Maori jurisdiction, ownership and sovereignty over their land LIKE THE FUCKING TREATY SAID!
People will soon realise how capitalism is doing them over. But communists must speak of core economic concern rather than the post modernism which alienates people and provides a mothball eaten jerkin caricature of the left.
