I like new school better but not the second wave of new school (Good Charlotte and the like crap) but I'm a fan of blink-182 and Sugarcult, occasionally I will listen to Green Day.
Out of the old school I like Bad Religion and Anti-Flag (even though they are from the new school era they sound old school).

The question was not about whether you were punk or not, but what generation of punk you listen to.
I cannot listen to Skrewdriver without wanting to kill Ian Stuart for his racism, also the music doesn't do much for me knowing they are racist fucks.

NOFX, Rise against anything like that.

Whether you listen to Skrewdriver's racist or non racist crap, you're supporting blood and honour whenever you promote their band, or buy any of their merchandise.
I'm into bands such as ...
Conflict
Crass
Extreme Noise Terror
Doom
Dog Shit Sandwich
Contravene
Zounds
The Mob
Resist
Resist and Exist
Anima Mundi
Etc

Older stuff hands down.
I think with newer stuff you have to rely less on what's readily available and look to the more obscure, lesser known bands.

Let me make a mental note to never take you seriously again.

...
Uh,
Sex Pistols, NY Dolls, Stooges, Velvet Underground, Ramones, Residents, Clash, Black Flag, Germs, Contortions, Theatrical Girls, a lot more, that’s all you get right now.
Some of those were what most would consider proto-punk, hardcore, or no wave, but I'll just lump them all in the "general punk" category.

Why not? I listen to them because they have lyrics I can smile to, and if I want something sad I will listen to some emo.

I love Aus-Rotten, Leftover Crack, Chocking Victim, The Unseen, Morning Glory, Iskra, Stretch Arm Strong, The Adored, Sadie Hawkins Rejects, Scatterbox and a lot of others. Old school mainstream was the best though, mainstream punk doesn't exist anymore. Old school bands: The Clash, The Buzzcocks, Dead Kennedys, Misfits, and I hate the Ramones music but they were orignals.

Old school punk was far better than the new punk out now. I've never liked the Ramones though Right wing punk if you ask me.
Alough the bands i would consider "Punk" today are very different from SUM 41 and Blink 182.
Any one like British Sea Power?

I hate it when people consider Blink 182 Good Charolette and that shit punk. No way, punk is a life style for one and then the music tends to be along the same lines of that lifestyle.
I also forgot...Intro5pect great band.

Yeah it pisses me off when you get the poser punks who have no idea what punk is about. Joy Divisions Warsaw album is amazing and quite punk sounding. Gotta have a bit of Joy Division to help you through the day.
Green Day and Good Charlotte aren't punk. All old punk is good, hands down. What I consider new punk would be the bands reppin the DIY music scene. The ones that go to shows that are organized at bowling alleys and legion halls by kids where the admission is $4 and the bands get almost nothing out of it except a means to exist for the length of the tour. THis is modern day punk.
Some bands would be Blood Brothers, Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower, Broadway Dialogue (RIP), Call Me Lightning, Doom Buggy (RIP), Forensics, Hewhocorrupts, Juiceboxxx, Kite Flying Society (RIP), Kodan Armada (RIP), Locust, Majority Rule (RIP), Textbook Traitors (RIP), Seven Days of Samsara, Paige Marshall, Welcome The Plague Year, Neil Perry (RIP), Joshua Fit For Battle (RIP), Since By Man, Song of Zarathustra, Orchid (RIP), Transistor Transistor, Pg.99 (RIP), Render By Phrase, Swing By Seven, Tora! Tora! Torrance!, With Childlike Eyes, Hundred Year Hex, Ampere, Relache, Envy, Melt Banana, Lightning Bolt, Amanda Woodward, A Day In Black And White, The Red Scare (RIP), Chariots, the list goes on......
Most of the punk bands I listen to are defunct because the local scene has gone from hardcore (amazingly good stuff) to metalcore (horribly terrible stuff):(. If anyone wants any links to some sites
The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower (http://www.blowuptheeiffeltower.com/)
Doom Buggy (http://www.myspace.com/doombuggymke)
Hewhocorrupts (http://www.hewhocorrupts.com/)
Kodan Armada (http://www.hxcmp3.com/bands/1251/index.php)
The Locust (http://www.thelocust.com/)
Textbook Traitors (http://www.purevolume.com/textbooktraitors)
Paige Marshall (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=7257489&Mytoken=20050712223657)

Check them out. Tell me what you think. REP THE DIY SCENE.

Dropkick Murphys. Complete working class music. Doesn't get much better than this. Who doesn't love awesome lyrics, with bagpipes blaring in the background?

If they'd just shut the hell up about Boston for a minute I'd like them a lot more. Oh and if they got their old singer back too
