NOTE: let us not forget this isn't Ghandi the dude, this is Indira Gandhi... just wanted to point that out, that may mislead some people in this thread who haven't had a good history lesson.

In reply I would say that no... Gandhi wasn't a great leader. Not at all. No path for future Indian liberation. In my eyes, so far, there haven't been ANY great leaders. And I'd say most Leftists would agree with my definition of a good leader as someone who leads their "people" to a society where leaders are obsolete. But then again many Leftists wouldn't.

Yeah, I think most people here knew it was Indira Gandhi. All you had to do was read the posted article, or even the title!
