World Chechen Congress convenes on 28-29 October in Copenhagen Denmark. The Congress targets to form a civilian initiative to bring peace to Chechnya. A former attempt to organize it in Turkey had failed.
Conference organizers explained the purpose of the Conference as to create a fruitful dialogue to contribute to paving the way to negotiaitons and peace in Chechnya. A lasting political solution is essential for war-torn Chechnya and for ending the enormous sufferings of The Chechen People.
Among the invited are representatives of the world wide Chechen diaspora, Chechen, Russian and international human rigths' organisations, the Russian parliament the Duma, the Council of Europe and UN.

The congress is organized by: The Danish Support Committee for Chechnya and the international organization of the Chechen diaspora, World Chechen Congress, in cooperation with Danish Center for Holocaust- and Genocide Studies, DCHF.
