I dunno maybe its me but why dont i ever hear or read about the genocide turkey conducted against the armenian population they once had?
It seems Iran and the country itself Armenia are the only ones that care

Because the bulk of Western media doesn't like promoting genocidal situations unless it's somehow directly related to the West. Then they'll ram the story home until millions of Westerners are practically willing to pick up a gun and kill themselves for the likes of the father, the son, and the holy Ashcroft.

Probably very few, for the reason expressed ABOVE. There might be a few of us, myself included, who had heard of it, but I doubt there are many of us who can stand up and claim we had any spectacular knowledge of the situation unless we had personal links to it, ie. were of one of the cultures involved.

i knew, because im armenian
there is increasing pressure in america to recognise the genocide now.
Many countries now have recognised it.
If you want to join the EU, then u have to recognise the genocide i think now

yes,
and on april 24 1915, 600 intellectuals in Istabul were murdered, and this is the day of rememberence, however the genocide was thru 3-4 years
There is a big armenian diaspora in iran, i went there every summer to see family, in Nadersha and Narmak and Vahidye in Tehran

my thoughts on iran?
the communist party (who put up umbrellas when it rained in moscow) were stupid ****s.
they like all stalinist groups allied with the bourgeusis instead of overthrowing all the capitalists.
They were hiding in holes when the revolution came.
Due to that now iran has a reactionary govt, where communists were killed and executed.
I think there was one famous communist party twat who gave the names of many many of his comrades who were also caught.
I think now is the time to overthrow th reactionary forces in iran and found a Socialist Republic of Iran, not an Islamic one.
Build up and fight comrade, you have nothing to lose but your chains.

The Canadian Government has recognised it as genocide. I don't know how many others have, especially in the western world.

I just recently read about it.
I'm doing a huge homework for college on the Kurds.
I read about the genocide in the Turkey chapters.
During the genocide, a lot of other minorities were killed (including Kurds if I'm not mistaken).

I have an interest in atrocitology, so I knew about this.
I've also found shitloads of anti-armenian websites, most of them refer to Koujalay but there was one which just basically said the Armenians deserved it and lists stuff like all the murders commited by Armenians in the 20th century (yeah, I could list all the murders commited by Turks in the 20th century and say kill the Turks, but I won't).
The Turks had been massecering the Armenians since the mid 19th century, and they were doing it in the 20s, it's just they got really big in 1915.
