Last acts of Che: DEFIANCE

I came across a newspaper account---it was very old, a couple days after Che's death---late October 1967.
The Newspaper's article had this title:

"Last acts of Che: DEFIANCE"

When he was tied up in that old school house and the enemy were trying to interrogate him Che spat at one officer and kicked another one, defying their authority.

One of the officers, who had been drinking, attempted to humiliate Che.

Che slapped him. Thats why he was beaten and tied-up.

I read that whan someone came in to interrogate him
Che answered: You don´t interrogate me.

"Don't shoot- I am Che. I'm worth more to you alive than dead.".

Practical, but not very heroic.

That was when he was captured in the ravine. His gun had been shot in the barrel, so he was unarmed. Also, he was defending a very injured comrade.

His last words were " I know you've come to kill me. Shoot coward, you're only going to kill a man".

That IS very heroic.

I believe when he was caught he tryed to shoot but his gun was jammed.

I doubt Che would have slapped or kicked someone when he was wounded so badly.
