Depends. There are two strands of far-right: the neo-liberal, libertarian model and fascism. Neither are desirable.

On the far left there is Trotskyism, Anarchism, Maoism, Stalinists etc. etc. The more authoritarian isms can be dangerously close to fascism.

true, but i believe anything too authoritarian cannot be leftist, since leftism advocates the will of the people, not the will of a dictator.

Therefore i would not consider Stalinism, and perhaps also maoism, as leftist.


The Cellules Communistes Combatants in france had ties with nazis i believe...though im not completely sure about that.

Actually, I think the system is somewhat flawed. Any authorian dictator can choose to say whatever he wants to the people. Does it really matter if the dictator favours the left or the right? No: what matters is what the dictator does.

Yes. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and whoever else were leftists in that they aligned themselves with communism but were obviously more concerned with personal power.
