Why are living conditions in communist countries so low? As we all know, the US is imposing an economic embargo on Cuba. People in Cuba are hungry, and have a lack of public services, but this is NOT because it is communist. It is because it is not allowed to prosper.
I have often wondered what motivation the US could have to be so cruel to communist countries. My first idea is this: The rich bastards at the head of the government want to keep their capitalist system. If people saw how well a communist country treated its inhabitants, the US would no longer be considered such a great place to live, and that would hurt their patriotic pride.
Put it this way. The French Revolution gave the working class and bourgeoise in other European countries the idea that they could fight back and get what they wanted, freeing themselves from the monarchies that ruled them, and kept them from living happily. No matter how hard the aristocracy and monarchies of other countries tried, the news spread.
From 1815-1848, a considerable number of revolutions broke out in Europe, resisting authoritarian rule, and casting off the Divine Right of Kings (similar to Bush's influence in the States right now). The success of the American and French revolutions encouraged the peoples of Latin America in their own struggles for independence.
The US does not want the communists to show the American people a better way of life. They want to keep the wealth in the upper class. It's all about greed, which is the dominant factor in the US government.
To me, historical events like that outbreak of revolution are inspiring and encouraging. It could happen now.
I would like to know what you think the US has against communist countries?
