anger is a gift

Does anyone else find it humorous that the mainstream news media has been criticizing and condeming the referendum in Iraq? Now, don't get me wrong, i am not supporting Huesain but his "election" is only slightly worse than ours. they have one choice, we have two. not a big difference and neither could be confused with democracy. just my thoughts.

think about this. lets say that saddam gets everybody to vote "no". would he let the outside world find out? i doubt it. the results are obvious lies.
also, lets say that in fact the elections are as fair as trading 5 pennies for a nickel. well, first off, saddam isnt very nice to dissendets. ta da! imagine that you are a secret dissedent and want to vote "no". would you risk going to the polls? where hundreds of followers are crying out saddams name? hell, i wouldnt leave my house. feign an illness.

Jaha - i don't think anger was saying that Saddam's referedum was "fair". On the contrary, he was saying thats its just as UNFAIR as the U.S. We get two candidates - practically the same. When we vote no, does it make a difference? What would a vote for a communist or socialist party mean? Nothing.

Guys, this was an open election. That means that anyone who doubted the authenticity of these elections could come and see for themselves. There are so many people parading in the streets of Iraq, shooting bullets in the air, dancing.... etc.
It was shown on mass media that people were voting, Iraqis were interviewed and one that I heard say "I don't like Saddam, but I would hate an American dictator." These people are against a foreign invader. Just as any other country would be.
These were open elections. So if you can come up with hard concrete proof that these were fixed then your statement means shit.
By the way, I do think that getting 100% approval is a little wierd, and I bet something is up with it, but I have no proof.
