I'm gonna have to say Rage (because they were angrier.)

For those that don't know, Audioslave is RATM with Chris Cornell (formally of Soundgarden) on vocals instead of Zach De la Rocha. Both great singers.

Anyway, who do you prefer?

I like Rage Against the Machine more, but I like Audioslave as well.
I would say I like RATM more because of the more political nature of the band and the way they fuse rap vocals with rock.

RATM were much better. I think bands like Audioslave and Velvet Revolver are horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard Chris Cornell will be singing RATM songs on the Audioslave tour.....HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That will sound crap, his voice isn't suited to that at all. They are both good bands but RATM are better due to political nature, fusion of rap and rock and their anger! I just started this poll to see who prefers which band due to them being exactly the same apart from the vocalist!

What a horrible question!

I'd have to say Audioslave, just cos Chris Cornell is a legend. But they're not political............I think I'll abstein.

RATM all the way, the vibe is ruined by Cornell, it's not the same without Rocha, therefore, it creates 2 completely different bands, however similar the music is, and, to be honest, RATM are just better.

Rage is a guilty pleasure for me...
Audioslave just blows.

RATM, and only because they are actually overly Leftist.

Which is odd, because it wasn't just Zack that was a commie, yet he leaves and suddenly the rest drop their revolutionary vibe.

Rage Against The Machine, i don't really like bands that have formed off other bands. All though Out of Exile is pretty good from Audioslave.

Rage against the machine are shit.

The self titled album was the only semi-good one. The others all were mediocre at best. Evil empire was just auful.

No matter what Enigma says about RATM ( i know he hates them which is not new to us anymore), I choose them over Audioslave, Chris Cornell just isn't Zach.

RATM, although I thought it was pretty close. The music has kind of changed (certainly the vocals), and although I love Soundgarden, I don't think the two bands could be blended until I heard Audioslave. Then I knew why I thought that way.

I think the problem is that people want another ratm out of audioslave, which isn't what the band wanted. If they did they wouldn't have got Chris, they would have got the dude from cypris hill. Audioslave are still dam good. Ratm are dead and people have to come to terms with the fact that it is highly unliky they will get back togeather basied on interveiws I've read.

Well the most important thing to remember is that Soundgarden are a lot better than both Audioslave and RATM.

With my name it's a foregone conclusion who I voted for, although I stil enjoy Audioslave. For those who doubt Zach De La Rocha "You Got A Bullet In Ya Head!"

I like Audioslave the best.. Chris Cornell isnt the "new Zach", and should not be reffered to as a "replacement". Rage Against The Machine had, after my opinion, only one good album, being "Rage Against The Machine"(self-titled). Cornell was(and is) a legend amongst grunge fans, and is king on the other end of the spectre.

RATM rocks.....Zack started a revolution when he was a lead singer of the band...
Chris won't work for them, they're making nice music now, but we need more Anger....like " FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHATCHA TOLD ME"

I've always been a bigger RATM fan, i just think they're much better. I don't want to offend anyone but Audioslave always came across as a little lame. The Battle Of Los Angeles wasn't that great either to be honest.

The word you're looking for is 'poor', or 'mediocre' at best. Evil empire was just 'god auful'.

I really like Chri's vocals but I think Tom M, Timmy C and Brad W were better with Zach. What's this about the others dropping their socialist values? If you watch the video to Audioslave's Like A Stone Tom Morello is wearing a cap with a soviet star in it.
