Any Mars Volta fans out there? They will be touring the states this summer with System of a Down. I STRONGLY recommend checking them out if you get a chance.

When their first album came out, I was really into that kinda of music and I loved. By the time the second one came out, I wasn't really anymore and it kinda bored me.

I do, however, have tickets to go see them with SOAD in August. I really don't like SOAD, though...

I am only going to the show to see The Mars Volta. I have seen them twice in NY (recently) and when I heard they were coming around again, I had to get tickets. I would like to know what you thought about them after the show. I think they are probably one of the top 5 live bands that I have ever seen....RADIOHEAD being #1.

The Mars Volta are, quite simply, fucking incredible. I mean, yeah, ok, the lyrics are a bit dark and kind of creepy, but any other kind would just not suit the music, which is fantastic. And his voice, oh man, he just gets brilliant, from quiet to loud, to that brilliant slightly high-pitched tone he can just create out of nothing, brilliant. And the guitaring/drumming is incredible. Life-altering stuff.
