I was thinking yesterday and thought about the idea of a union of students who would demand higher quality education at lower prices. I think they would mainly be at the college level, but also at the high school level. Do these "student unions exist anywhere?
Please give me feedback! and dont tell me anything about so called "student government" because at my school they don't do shit.

It's getting like that here in the UK too. Higher education used to be free but fees were introduced a few years ago I think top-up fees have already been introduced in England and Wales and they're soon to be introduced here in Northern Ireland so that means that fees will increase from the £1,150 a year they are now to £3,000 a year.

only 3000 pounds... if it wasn't for my brothers scholarship it would cost us $40,000 to keep him in his current school. This is on the high end of college tuition but i think it is a good example on how much it costs to educate someone in america.
And in indiana (my home state) even in grade school parents have to pay for school supplies and for books. Many of those books get thrown out because they aren't used, what a waste of paper and money.
